What Flood Season Did to Everyday Life

When the floods came, roads disappeared, fields vanished and life moved with the water. Communities adapted to survive the season and were never quite the same when it passed.

Flood season was both a test and a teacher. It shaped how people built, worked, trusted and hoped And it made deliverance more than just a story-it made it personal.

FAMILIES MOVED HIGHER
Homes were built on raised ground or stilts, and everything was kept ready to move.

BOATS BECAME THE ROADS
Travel, trade and even visits to neighbours happened by water.

FOOD & SUPPLIES STORED UP
Grain, dried fish, oil and clean water were stored high and sealed tight against damp and spoilage.

WORK CONTINUED
Fishing, weaving, mending nets, tending animals and caring for family never stopped.

COMMUNITIES GATHERED
Even in uncertainty, people prayed, shared meals and reminded one another who they were.
